SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The tie for the 5th most impactful local story of 2021 as selected by the KELO.com News Team is the City of Sioux Falls going over $1 billion in building permits.
The city hit that nice round number just before Thanksgiving, with more than a month left in the year.
It eclipsed last year’s mark of nearly $917 million.
Almost $61 million dollars of that $1 billion dollar amount is the Amazon Fulfillment Center being built in northern Sioux Falls.
FedEx also has an over $27 million construction project.
