Today, I am recommending a 6% pay increase for state workers, a 6% increase in education funding (that should go to educator salaries), and a 6% increase for our healthcare providers.

For most of us, we depend on first responders when we are in our darkest hours. We hope to never need their services. But in our most trying times, they answer the call. They put their lives on the line to help others.

I am recommending $24 million to improve emergency services.
The @SD_Guard is the very best in the nation. My budget maximizes federal matching funds to improve readiness capabilities for our Guard units. These investments ensure our National Guard can continue to lead the nation through their service to our state and country.

Too often, when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, they just end up in jail. That doesn’t help them, and it’s a strain on taxpayer dollars. Let's take care of these individuals better through regional behavioral health centers to serve people in crisis statewide. pic.twitter.com/lrhpYGFe4O
