SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police Tuesday afternoon provided more details on the death of baby Daxton Castimore.
According to reports, the accused, 22-year-old Dylan Castimore of Sioux Falls, is Daxton’s father. Police say Dyland Castimore and an unnamed woman shared custody of the baby.
Police said the scene at the apartment where the incident happened was consistent with a homicide.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: On Saturday, November 27, at 11:46 a.m., emergency personnel were sent to an apartment building in the 3400 block of North 4th Avenue for an eight-week-old infant boy that was unconscious and not breathing.
The infant, Daxton Castimore, was taken to the hospital and died. There was evidence that the Daxton may have been assaulted. Dylan Castimore, a 22-year-old man, was the only person in the apartment with Daxton before emergency personnel were called. After an autopsy was conducted, it was discovered that Daxton had a skull fracture, broken ribs, and a laceration on his liver. The coroner determined the cause of death was homicide.
After the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, November 30, for Dylan Matthew Castimore. The warrant was issued for Murder Second Degree and Manslaughter First Degree. The warrant carries a $1,000,000 cash bond.
Dylan Castimore was arrested on the warrant Tuesday afternoon without incident.

Saturday, Dylan Castimore, 22, contacted police late Sunday morning and said the baby was unresponsive.
Castimore is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in the infant’s death.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — At 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sioux Falls Police will announce their findings and possible charges in the investigation in the death of an eight-week-old baby boy.
Saturday around noon, first responders went to the 3400 block of North 4th Avenue for a report of the baby not breathing.
The baby was taken to a hospital where medical personnel pronounced the child dead.
