BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Starship robots are delivering food on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings. The campus is the first in the state to have such a service.
The on-demand robots deliver from three campus eateries – Grille Works, Papa Johns, and Starbucks. Additional locations will be added. Students and staff at the campus can use the Starship Food Delivery app to order food and drinks from local retailers to be delivered anywhere on campus within minutes. The service works in conjunction with the student meal plan.
One robot can carry up to 20 pounds.
