SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Minnehaha County Inmate was found dead in her cell on Wednesday.
That’s according to the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office.
The 50-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her cell.
The cause of death has yet to be determined.

On Wednesday November 10th at approximately 1:19 a.m., a 50 year old female Minnehaha County Inmate was found unresponsive in her cell during a routine cell check. Jail staff and Jail Medical staff responded and initiated CPR. An emergency response was initiated with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and Paramedics responding to assist.
Life saving efforts were not successful.
As a matter of routine, the Department of Criminal Investigations has been brought in by the Sheriff’s Office to investigate. At this time, no foul play is suspected. Cause of death has yet to be determined by the County Coroner.
