MITCHELL, S.D. (KMIT) โ A plan to build a new high school in Mitchell is making progress.
The Mitchell School Board approved a bid from a construction firm based in the city, Puetz Design & Build. The bid proposals were scored based on three criteria: experience, services provided, and costs and fee structure.
The project is expected to cost about $35 million. Mitchell Schools Superintendent Joe Graves says they wonโt need to raise taxes to build the new school. Rather, the money will come out of revenue the district has already saved up and some federal assistance.
The new high school will be built somewhere on the current campus.
