SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) โ Over the weekend, a flare up on the surface of the Sun sent charged particles racing towards Earth.
Late last night, the particles announced their arrival by producing a wonderful light show in the northern sky.
The National Weather Service announced that a moderate geomagnetic storm was producing Northern Lights that were visible as far south as Lincoln, Nebraska.
Throughout the overnight hours, the National Weather Service shared several images from followers who captured the Northern Lights right here in the KELO radio listening area.
Check out what late night viewers captured from throughout the region.
