COLMAN, S.D. (KELO.com ) — The South Dakota Department of Transportation is proposing a speed limit change on Highway 34 through Colman, in Moody County. The proposal, presented at the Commission meeting last week, would extend the existing 35 and 45-mph speed zones to slow traffic near the Colman-Egan School, a housing development and the new Dollar General.
The speed limit changes were initially requested by the City of Colman. The DOT Mitchell Region Traffic Engineer, Captain Whisler of the SD Highway Patrol, and Moody County Sheriff Troy Wellman support the proposed changes.
Members of the public can express their thoughts on the project on the DOT’s website.
