SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Six new certified out-of-state law enforcement officers are joining the Sioux Falls Police Department.
Chief Jon Thum says since they are already certified, they only have to take the department’s in-house and field training.
He says that speeds up getting them on the street.
The new officers are from Arizona, New Mexico, Illinois, California, and Florida.
Thum says the officers coming to Sioux Falls is an endorsement of the community.
