
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The latest drought monitor has been released. The Sioux Falls National Weather Service says the main highlight is improvement.
Far northwestern Iowa is officially out of the drought and most other locations saw varying degrees of improvement. The weather service says further improvement can be expected with the rains received today.
Western portions of the Dakotas have continued to experience rainfall deficits which have severely impacted crops. South Dakota had its driest May-July on record as well as its 7th driest August-July period on record.
