SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Guns brandished and fired was involved in a number of incidents over the weekend, as reported at Monday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
DRIVE-BY SHOOTING
The authorities are looking for the shooter in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in the 200 block of North Cleveland Ave. in Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Police say two people in an apartment heard gunfire
One round nearly hit one of the residents.
The perpetrator or perpetrators remain at large.
MAN FIRES INTO APARTMENT, BULLET GRAZES WOMAN
A man is wanted by police after firing a gun inside an apartment, grazing the leg of his girlfriend.
Sioux Falls Police were called to the 800 block of South Charlotte Avenue early Sunday morning for a domestic dispute.
The suspect bit and strangled the victim.
He broke a window and fled before police arrived.
He returned after police left, pointed a gun inside the apartment through the broken window, and started firing.
Five rounds were fired, with one grazing the victim’s leg.
Police believe they know who the suspect is.
WOMAN GETS RIDE, PULLS OUT A GUN, STEALS CAR
Sioux Falls Police are looking for a 5’5″ tall Native American woman who they say pulled a gun on a man giving her a ride then stealing his car.
The incident happened Saturday night near the 15th Street and Sycamore area.
Police said the woman asked the man for a ride.
A little way into the ride, she pulled a gun on him.
He got out, and she slid over and drove off with the vehicle.
The police did recover the car early Monday morning on North Minnesota Ave.
SHOTS FIRED INCIDENT
Sioux Falls Police are investigating still another shots fired episode.
This time, witnesses say people in a silver car drove in the 600 South 3rd Avenue area and fired shots.
Police found three shell casings.
The incident happened late Sunday night.
No one was hurt.
INEBRIATED MAN JUMPED AND ROBBED
Sioux Falls Police are hoping an inebriated man who was jumped and punched in the face over the weekend can give them more detail on his attack.
The victim said he was attacked by three guys somewhere downtown.
He says they took his tennis shoes and his backpack.
UNLOCKED CAR, STOLEN WALLET
Another unlocked car over the weekend, another theft.
Sioux Falls Police say the thief stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle.
