SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — At Wednesday’s daily briefing, Sioux Falls Police discussed two serious crimes that had good outcomes for the victims.
WOMAN ESCAPES WOULD-BE ATTACKER ON BIKE TRAIL
A young Sioux Falls woman fought off a would-be attacker on the bike trial Sunday night.
The 18-year-old woman was running near Dunham Park.
A man in a car with yellow rims had said something to her earlier.
He then stopped and ran toward the woman.
He put her in a bear hug and groped her.
Sioux Falls Police said she thought he was trying to take her to his car.
She elbowed him and escaped.
Josue Daniel Lopez Cruz, 20, from Sioux Falls, faces stalking, simple assault, and kidnapping charges.
SUSPICIONS THAT CAR THEFT VICTIM WAS SET UP
After jumping a victim in his vehicle and stealing it early Wednesday morning in Sioux Falls, a man and a woman sit in jail.
The victim and the woman were riding the victim’s car.
The woman was driving.
The woman stopped, and another man tried to pull the victim from the car.
The suspect stabbed the man, and the suspect and the woman stole the vehicle.
There was a short police chase.
The car thieves eventually crashed into a tree on the Augustana University campus. They attempted to flee on foot, but the police caught them.
Boru Guye Wako, Jr., 35, from Sioux Falls, and Tawny Marie Foolbull, 20, from Yankton, face several felony charges.
The victim was not seriously hurt.
