SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – Governor Kristi Noem is standing firm in her opposition to mandates on masks. On Tuesday, new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that vaccinated people return to wearing masks indoors in parts of the U.S. where the coronavirus is surging.
In a post on Facebook, Governor Noem took the CDC to task, saying, “The CDC shifts their position AGAIN.”
The Governor says South Dakota’s cases remain low and advises that if you’re worried about the virus, you can get vaccinated, wear a mask, or stay at home.
Noem says South Dakota won’t be mandating anything. Noem further adds that the CDC’s inconsistency doesn’t help the American people.
