SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Just another weekend of garden variety crimes in Sioux Falls.
Here are some “highlights” from Monday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
A CULPRIT WHO JUST COULDN’T TAKE A HINT
A Sioux Falls man just didn’t get the message from area businesses and the police the first time
Yesterday (Sunday), businesses at 43rd and Minnesota asked Goitum Abdu, 19, from Sioux Falls, to stop hanging around.
Then the police told him to stop hanging around.
Abdu left, but then he came back and was belligerent.
Police said Abdu broke into vehicles upon his return.
The man earned a trip to jail on charges of damage to property and theft.
ALERT POLICE OFFICERS CATCH FELON WHO HAD A STOLEN GUN
Alert Sioux Falls Police officers eventually pulled over a man with warrants early Monday morning.
They then discovered he had a gun stolen from the Sioux Falls area.
Traye Jeffrey Mjelde , 24, from Sioux Falls faces eluding and firearms charges.
DRUG OD CALL LEADS TO STOLEN TOOLS, VEHICLE
A call about a possible overdose leads the Sioux Falls Police to stolen tools and a stolen vehicle.
Sunday afternoon, police received a call about a man on South Arcadia Road having a possible overdose reaction.
However, when they arrived, the man was ok but did admit to stealing $3,200 worth of new tools and a vehicle with stolen license plates.
Erick Hooker, 38, from Sioux Falls, is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, grand theft, and other charges.
