SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Like you, crime is getting ready for the weekend.
Here are police reports ripped from the files of the Sioux Falls Police Department’s Friday briefing.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ASSAULT THEN ROBBERY
A volatile domestic violence situation accelerated to a robbery Thursday.
Dakota Andrew Thorstenson, 25, from Sioux Falls, is charged with a number of counts, including aggravated assault domestic, robbery, and gun offenses.
Police say Thorstenson took his girlfriend’s handgun and racked it while holding it.
That happened in the 6800 block of West 17th Place.
The Thorstenson then ended up trying to rob a man at a convenience store.
Police finally caught Thorstenson in the 41st Street and Western Avenue area.
STABBED MAN FOUND LYING IN THE STREET
Sioux Falls Police are looking for a suspect in a stabbing Thursday afternoon.
Motorists found a man lying in the street at 5th and Cliff.
At first, they thought he was hit by a car.
Instead, he had been stabbed in the torso and staggered from the 1800 block of East 3rd Street.
Police think they know who the suspect is.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
AGAIN WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS!
Catalytic converter thefts continue.
Sioux Falls Police say they are not concentrated in any one area.
One converter was stolen when a burglar broken into a garage and also stole tools.
The unlocked vehicle situation continues.
Police say tools and a bike were taken from vehicles Thursday.
