SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KIELO.com) — It was a short but action-packed report at Thursday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
ATM ROBBERY MIGHT BE PART OF A NATIONAL SPREE
Sioux Falls Police think the theft and destruction of an ATM yesterday (Wednesday) may be part of a regional or national crime spree.
Police say three men stole a van from a nearby business and used it to pull apart an ATM at South Kiwanis and Kiwanis Circle.
Authorities say they think the culprits hooked a logging chain to the van, then used it to yank out the ATM from the building.
Police said they found no money in the debris field.
They’re not sure how much money was stolen.
Law enforcement thinks this fits a recent pattern of ATM thefts nationally.
FIVE UNLOCKED VEHICLES WITH KEYS IN THEM, FIVE STOLEN VEHICLES
Sioux Falls Police are investigating the theft of five vehicles Wednesday.
The authorities say all five were unlocked and had their keys in them.
