MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO.com) — Johnny Rivers, who was slated to perform at this year’s Corn Palace Festival, has canceled his Mitchell date and all remaining 2021 performances.
Romeo Entertainment informed the Corn Palace of the retirement of Johnny Rivers and his band on Tuesday evening. The ongoing concern of COVID-19 and travel for the 78-year-old Rivers forced the cancellation of his August 26 Festival Concert and all 2021 performances.
The Corn Palace Events and Entertainment board are currently seeking alternative options for the Thursday night show. Ticket refunds will be processed by the box office beginning immediately. Tickets purchased online will be refunded automatically less the processing fees incurred. Tickets purchased at the box office with cash or check will be refunded via check from the City of Mitchell.
Ticket for Whiskey Myers and Black Hawk shows are still available for purchase either at the box office or at http://www.cornpalace.com. Look for further information regarding the replacement entertainment coming soon.
