SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Wholestone Farms is bringing a new pork processing plant to Sioux Falls.
Wholestone Farms Chairman of the Board Luke Menion says, “Sioux Falls is really the only place in South Dakota that has all the things we need for a project of this scale.”
He also added that “…it has the right set of resources for the project.”
Mayor Paul TenHaken issued a statement earlier this week expressing concern about the workforce and housing issues, to which Menion responded, “We think we have time to meet some of the challenges…I respect the concerns if there’s a disagreement…I think when it gets right down to it, I think we’ll meet the challenge.”
Menion says, “I am very confident that what we’re doing can be a very positive thing and the way Wholestone will behave and act in the community…will really be appreciated by my fellow residents. I’m a Sioux Falls resident…We’re going to be very keen on doing things right.”
The Wholestone Farms processing plant expects to be operational in 2025.
