SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police talk about kids stealing cars, more shots fired, and catching a flag burner in Thursday’s briefing.
KIDS TAKE JOYRIDE IN UNLOCKED CAR WITH KEYS IN IT
Twelve and 13-year-olds stole an unlocked car with the keys in it and took in on a reckless joyride in Sioux Falls yesterday (Wednesday).
Sioux Falls Police say they can’t add a lot of details because the suspects are juveniles.
However, they say that the car was stolen from the 6600 block of West 55th Street.
Once again, the police ask you to lock your vehicle and take your keys.
Police say they have been responding to far too many cases like this across the city.
POLICE MAY HAVE CAUGHT A “SHOTS FIRED” CULPRIT
There was another case of shots fired overnight Wednesday and Thursday in Sioux Falls, but police may have caught the culprits.
A little before midnight last night, police received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of North Lincoln Avenue.
Witnesses reported a white car driving off at a high rate of speed.
Police pulled over the car before 1 a.m.
One of the passengers got out and fled, dropping a gun in the process.
Police aren’t sure it is THE gun yet.
The runner, Marco Antonio Sherman, 26, from Sioux Falls, was charged with multiple felonies, and the three others in the car were charged with meth and paraphernalia possession.
ALERT COP CATCHES MAN BURNING GAY RIGHTS FLAG
An alert Sioux Falls Police patrol officer caught a man in the act of trying to burn an LGBTQ flag downtown last night (Wednesday).
Police say the officer saw the man in the 200 block of South Phillips take out a lighter and try to burn the flag.
The man also damaged the flag pole.
Meron Fishaye Behre, 24, from Sioux Falls, was charged with reckless burning and intentional property damage.
