SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are the highlights of Wednesday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
ANOTHER FAKE WARRANTS SCAM
Another Sioux Falls resident gets scammed on a fake warrant scheme.
Sioux Falls Police say scammers called a person who lived in the 800 block of East 7th Street yesterday (Tuesday) and said they would be arrested for outstanding warrants.
They told them to pay with Visa gift cards.
The person gave the numbers to $3,000 worth of cards to the fraudsters–then called the police after it was too late.
UNLOCKED TRUCK = GOODBYE TRUCK
Another unlocked vehicle leads to another vehicle theft.
Sioux Falls Police say a homeowner left his keys in his truck parked in the garage.
The thief got into the garage and stole the truck.
The police remind you to lock your car and take your keys, so you are less likely to end up as a victim.
WOMAN STABBED BUT WON’T REPORT THE PERP
A woman with several stab wounds went to the emergency room Friday in Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Police say they came from a domestic incident, but the woman did not want to press charges.
The authorities say she was stabbed in the shoulder and torso.
Officer Sam Clemens says it is unusual for a victim in a stabbing to not want to press charges against the assailant.
