SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem is re-igniting her fight to host a fireworks show at Mt. Rushmore.
On her personal Twitter account, Noem accused the Biden administration of being hypocritical after the White House announced it plans to host an event with essential and military workers.
She stated, “Given this hypocrisy, we will be resubmitting our request to hold our celebration at Mount Rushmore on July 3rd”.
Noem was unsuccessful in her first bid to host a fireworks show after a federal judge ruled in favor of the Department of Interior after the Department of Interior denied a permit due to possible environmental concerns, and lack of coordination with local Native American tribes.
