SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police were busy over the weekend with several incidents.
TEENS DRIVE WRONG WAY ON STREET, CAUSE ACCIDENT
Nine teens, all 15 and under, were involved in an SUV that drove the wrong way at a high rate of speed and crashed into another vehicle early Sunday morning.
The accident happened at Sunnymeade and Minnesota Avenue.
According to police, a young woman in the car that the teens hit had to be extricated and was in and out of consciousness.
That 17-year-old woman had non-life-threatening injuries.
The 14-year-old female driver of the car with the juveniles faces felony hit-and-run, no driver’s license, driving the wrong way, and reckless driving.
Six of the juveniles in the car had slight injuries.
NO SHOTS FIRED, BUT MEN POINT GUNS AT KIDS
Fortunately, it wasn’t another shots fired incident, but two Sioux Falls youngsters had guns pointed at them.
The 10-year-old boy and the seven-year-old girl said a white or Hispanic man and the black man drew their weapons Saturday evening.
The kids ran away and told their dad, who called the police.
The incident took place in the 1600 block of South Rock Creek Drive.
The gunmen are still at large.
LOCK YOUR CAR!
An unlocked car leads to a house robbery.
Sioux Falls Police say a burglar got into an unlocked car, found the garage door opener, then took stuff from the garage.
The police once again remind you to lock your vehicle doors, so you aren’t making things too easy for crooks.
SOME UNSOLVED ASSAULTS
Sioux Falls Police are investigating two unrelated assaults over the weekend.
In the first, in the 1300 block of 41st Street, the victim left a bar.
An assailant threatened him with a gun and was joined by two more ruffians.
They stole his wallet.
In the second incident, the bad guy pushed the victim down and took his wallet.
The victim says he thinks he knows the perpetrator.
NAKED MEN PINCHED
There were two indecent exposure cases over the weekend.
Sioux Falls Police said in the first instance, a naked man was in the grass touching himself.
In the other, they say a mother with young children came upon a naked man.
