PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem’s press aide says all normal steps were followed in asking singer Reba McEntire to participate in a Texas fundraiser.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Country singer Reba McEntire tweets today that she did not accept an invitation to appear at a Montana fundraiser for Governor Kristi Noem.
The fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday. At right is the poster from Twitter.
McEntire tweets that she told the organizers she was not going to participate.
Her name is featured as one of the special guests.
McEntire says she does not participate in political activities.
KELO.com News has asked the Governor’s Office for comment.
Organizers are asking for an $8,000 donation per couple to be a “host couple” or $500 per individual or $1,000 a couple to be an “attendee.”
McEntire’s Twitter account is a blue check-marked “verified” account.
McEntire is scheduled to perform at the Premier Center in Sioux Falls on January 22, 2022.
