PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has additional information on the pickup v. semi crash near Exit 73 on Interstate 29 Thursday afternoon.
Both vehicles were northbound on Interstate 29. The semi-truck was in far left lane and the pickup in the middle lane. The pickup left the lane to its left and into the path of the semi-truck. The two vehicles collided and both vehicles went off the road to the left and into the median. The pickup rolled over and came to rest on top of a cable guardrail.
The pickup driver, Gary Williams, 63, from Lennox, suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The SDDPS says charges are pending against him.
The semi driver, a 46 year old man, sustained minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Highway Patrol is investigating. This is preliminary information only.

TEA, S.D. (KELO.com) — KELO.com News has received a report of an accident on Interstate 29 near Exit 73 south of Sioux Falls Thursday afternoon.
Details are still coming in, but it appears that at least a semi-tractor/trailer is in the median.
Traffic is slowed during the clearing and investigation of the mishap.
The S.D. Dept of Public Safety says preliminary information indicates it is a non-injury crash between a pickup and semi.
Authorities are still investigating.
