SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Electric scooter rentals could be coming to Downtown Sioux Falls
The Sioux Falls City Council is considering an ordinance that would allow the rental of the motorized devices on the sidewalks in the downtown area.
Council Alex Jensen said the rental scooters will have a GPS chip that will limit where the scooters can travel and at what speed they will go.
Councilor Greg Neitzert said it will be important to work with Downtown stakeholders.
Troy Holt, a local businessman, would like to open the business in Sioux Falls after enjoying touring the City of Duluth on the scooters during a family vacation.
Second reading of the ordinance will be June 8th
