SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police are investigating the theft of a two-carat diamond worth $13,000
A jewelry store in the Empire Mall reported it stolen Thursday, but they think it was taken Tuesday.
Police say one thief distracted the clerk, and another thief reached into a case and stole the diamond.
There is security footage.
The authorities do not think it’s connected to an earlier jewelry theft at Bechtold’s Jewelry in downtown Sioux Falls.
The races of the suspects are not the same.
AND ONE OTHER THING BEFORE WE LEAVE FOR THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
There will be no Sioux Falls Police briefing Monday because of Memorial Day.
Also, from Friday’s briefing…
A man was arrested Thursday after he was discovered in a homeowner’s detached garage.
Nothing was taken, and no one was injured.
