SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are the big stories from Thursday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
IS THIS THE RED CAR YOU’RE LOOKING FOR?
While serving warrants Wednesday, Sioux Falls Police came upon a man in a red car.
Police have been looking for a red car involved in a hit-and-run accident Friday.
Officer Sam Clemens says there are similarities between the red car police found Wednesday and the red car involved in the accident.
However, he says police have not concluded it is THE red car and whether the driver is a suspect in the hit-and-run.
Richard Scott Jenerou, 37, from Sioux Falls was taken into custody for outstanding warrants for aggravated assault domestic and DWI.
MATH COPS
Even though Sioux Falls Police have found a red car, they are not sure if it is the red car involved in a hit-and-run accident last Friday.
That accident caused another car to flip over.
Meanwhile, the Sioux Falls Police are still reconstructing the accident.
Officer Sam Clemens says a lot of math and physics goes into figuring out what happened.
That’s particularly so for determining the speeds of the vehicles in the accident.
GOOD SAMARITAN THREATENED
A Good Samaritan was threatened Wednesday in Sioux Falls when he tried to intervene in a dispute between a man and a woman with a child.
Sioux Falls Police say Tyler Maurice Goodkill, 31, from Sioux Falls, was threatening the woman and the child.
The victim intervened and police say Goodkill threatened him with brass knuckles, which are illegal in the city.
Authorities say the woman and child ran off.
They don’t know if they were injured.
The victim was not injured.
