SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The City of Sioux Falls has some reminders about trees as we enter summer.
DON’T MOVE ASH WOOD AFTER MEMORIAL DAY
After Memorial Day, residents will no longer be able to cut and haul ash material within the city limits of Sioux Falls until after Labor Day.
This slows the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) as adult beetles emerge during this time.
WANT A BOULEVARD TREE? NEED A CITY PERMIT
Do you want to plant a new street tree?
Don’t forget your permit! A Street Tree Planting Permit is required to plant a tree in the right-of-way.
The application is easy and free! To apply for a permit, visit SiouxFalls.org/Street-Tree.
Planting on the curb without a permit could result in a $100 fine, and you could be required to move the tree.
Don’t forget your permit!
