SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The federal Drug Enforcement Agency is holding a prescription drug take-back day Saturday at the Sioux Falls Law Enforcement Center.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Sioux Falls Police also have a drug repository box that you can use on weekdays while the lobby is open.
Officer Sam Clemens says the police have collected over 8,000 pounds of no longer needed drugs over the past three years.
Clemens says old prescription drugs are often put away and forgotten until someone steals them.
He says the illegal use of prescription drugs is an ongoing problem.
