RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Civil Air Patrol (CAP) aircrew on a routine training flight found a fire in the Black Hills which had not previously been detected.
The fire was near the Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch in Pennington County. At least one fire truck from Hill City responded promptly.
The South Dakota Wing aircrew consisted of Col. Mike Beason, CAP, and Lt. Col Craig Goodrich, CAP, of Rapid City and MSgt. Chris Banks, CAP, of Ellsworth Air Force Base.
