SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It was one year ago Wednesday that Minnehaha County recorded its first COVID-19 case.
In a news conference, Mayor Paul TenHaken said cooperation and partnerships help the community through the pandemic.
He said competitors Sanford and Avera worked well together to help fight the pandemic in the area.
Dr. Mike Elliot from Avera says their telehealth and home programs helped reduce caseloads in their hospitals.
Nurse Kelly Hefti says Sanford staff have helped deliver over 140,000 doses of vaccine across the region.
