SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Say goodbye to Mr. Sunshine and Mrs. Warmth after today in the Sioux Falls area.
Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), the National Weather Service has placed the immediate Sioux Falls area under a hazardous weather outlook.
Rain is expected to develop on Wednesday, with areas north and west of Sioux Falls to Yankton likely to find a mix or brief change to snow during the afternoon and early evening. A minor dusting of accumulation is possible.
To the north in the Huron and Chamberlain areas, they will be under Winter Weather Advisory tomorrow.
* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, locally heavier amounts north of Highway 14 from near De Smet to Wessington.
* WHERE…Portions of central, east central and south central South Dakota.
* WHEN…From noon Wednesday to midnight CST Wednesday night.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
