PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) โ At least eight members of the South Dakota House of Representatives have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week or so.
Among them is District 24 Rep. Will Mortenson of Pierre, who received his positive test result Friday. He says he started feeling unwell mid-week.
โRight away I didnโt feel that bad, other than that I was just totally wracked with worry and guilt over the people that I saw and the potential that I would have spread it around,โ Mortenson said.
Mortenson says heโll participate in the session remotely, as he feels up to it. He said heโd like to return when itโs safe to do so, but isnโt sure when that will be.
Prior to the start of the session, the Senate implemented a face mask mandate, while the House did not.
At this point, no state senators have disclosed that theyโve tested positive.
