BRANDON, S.D. (KELO.com) โ The police chief for the City of Brandon is resigning.
In an email to KELO.com News, Chief Joe Weir said he was negotiating with the city as to when his resignation would be effective.
Weir is a former retired FBI agent. He took the position on April 1, 2019.
A post on the Facebook page, โCity of Brandon, SD, The Dirt,โ purports to be Weirโs resignation letter, dated January 28, 2021. KELO.com News is attempting to confirm the authenticity of the letter.
In it, Weir, says he is resigning because of frustrations with obtaining pay raises for BPD officers and better facilities and equipment.
