SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Coronavirus case tracking by the New York Times indicates that COVID-19 cases continue on a downward trend in South Dakota and in the Sioux Falls metro area.
SOUTH DAKOTA
- The average number of new cases was 177 Friday, a 11 percent decrease from Thursday.
- Since January of last year, at least 1 in 8 South Dakotans have been infected; at least 1 in 500 have died.
MINNEHAHA COUNTY
- The average number of new cases in Minnehaha County was 36 Friday, a 17 percent decrease from Thursday.
- Since January of last year, at least 1 in 7 Minnehaha County residents have been infected; at least 1 in 623 have died.
LINCOLN COUNTY
- The average number of new cases in Lincoln County was 15 Thursday, about the same as Thursday.
- Since January of last year, at least 1 in 8 Lincoln County residents have been infected; at least 1 in 826 have died.
UNITED STATES
- The average number of new cases in the United States fell to 155,880 yesterday, a 2 percent decrease from Thursday.
- Since January of last year, at least 1 in 13 Americans have been infected; at least 1 in 760 have died.
