SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police had a busy long MLK Holiday weekend.
Some highlights (or lowlights) from Tuesday’s police briefing:
- SUSPICIOUS DEATH
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results on a man found dead near 29th Street North and Van Eps.
Sioux Falls Police are calling the unattended death suspicious.
- GOOD SAMARITANS TURNED BAD
Sioux Falls Police are looking for three men who helped three women who were having car trouble.
But after they helped the women get their car running again near Arrowhead Parkway and Highline, they followed them to their apartment on South Madison.
There, one of the men pulled out a gun and said he wanted their car.
However, the car would not start again, so the assailants took one of the women’s backpacks.
The men remain at large.
- TWO CASINOS BURGULED
Sioux Falls Police are investigating the burglary of two casinos over the weekend.
Authorities say the Paradise Casino was broken into early Saturday morning.
The burglar also stole money from machines.
Then there was another burglary and theft from machines at the Black Diamond Casino early Sunday morning.
Police don’t know if the burglaries are related.
- ANOTHER SHOTS FIRED INCIDENT
Police are investigating a shooting incident in the 13th and Summit area of Sioux Falls early Monday morning.
Police say a man left his house with a shotgun and gave it to another person.
Someone from another house came out with a handgun.
Shots came from both the shotgun and handgun.
Cody Jones, 24, from Watertown, was arrested for having a firearm–the shotgun–with an altered serial number.
Authorities have not yet arrested anyone for the exchange of gunfire.
