SIOUX CITY, Iowa, (KELO.com) — Sioux City Police say that a woman drove her car intentionally into the Missouri River on Wednesday morning.
Officers say the young woman took a family member’s car and drove it through construction where it got stuck on the bank. She exited the vehicle and allowed it to slide into the river.
Officials say she was uninjured and sent to the hospital for mental evaluation and mental treatment.
The car has not yet been removed from the river and authorities are still discussing options to get it out safely.
