PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota legislative leaders are still trying to come up
with guidelines to meet safely during the session in Pierre.
Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says current technology allows many meeting options.
“We have the technology to allow people to have some flexibility, while I definitely think in a normal year we should all be required to be in the capitol. We think there are some circumstances for some Representatives and Senators due to their age or health conditions that we should be working with the technology we already have in place to accommodate them.”, Cwach said.
Representative Linda Duba of Sioux Falls has said she won’t go to Pierre until she gets a Covid-19 vaccination.
In 2021, the South Dakota State Legislature is scheduled to convene on January 12 and adjourn on March 29.
