SIOUX FALLS, SD, ( KELO.com) — Mayor Paul TenHaken and local Sioux Falls officials held a conference today to discuss the city’s coronavirus response.
TenHaken says that although numbers are low right now and a vaccine is on the horizon, that doesn’t mean people should stop following safety guidelines.
“We’re still several months away from that vaccine being available to John Q. Citizen,” he says.
TenHaken also says that the City Council will be looking at another reading on Tuesday night to extend the mask ordinance to March.
He says that the city healthcare system will continue to update the city on COVID-19 numbers, but the community needs to continue to do their part in practicing social distancing and wearing a mask.
