SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District’s 15th annual Project Warm-Up to provide blankets to children who need them is not letting the pandemic stop it.
Last year, the district identified 1,100 children as homeless.
The district will be collecting new fleece blankets at Sonya Sotomayor Elementary School on school days from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over the years, the district and its partners have distributed over 25,000 new fleece blankets to children and families in need in the Sioux Falls area and beyond.
The project’s partners include Habitat for Humanity, The Teddy Bear Den, and Chemo Comfort Care Bags.
