SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The City of Sioux Falls has gone for a mask mandate, but has stopped short of further restrictions, just barely.
On the same night that City Council was easily approving an indoor mask mandate, it was closely disapproving a return to a no-lingering ordinance.
The ordinance would have gone back to limits on the number of people at any one time inside most businesses in Sioux Falls.
The Council vote was 4-4, but Mayor Paul TenHaken broke the tie by voting against re-imposing the limits.
The mask mandate – it has no punishment for violators – is scheduled to go into effect on Saturday.
