SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — In the 29th Annual Parade of Lights in Sioux Falls this holiday season like no other, the floats won’t be moving, the spectators will.
All the holiday floats with their festive lights and decorations will be parked in one place along downtown streets, instead of parading down the streets like in parades past.
Downtown Sioux Falls says that this way the thousands of people that attend the parade won’t have a tendency to crowd up and stand in one place on the sidewalks as the floats go by.
Instead, they will be encouraged to walk to each stationary float, enjoy the view and walk on to the next one, hopefully giving plenty of leeway for social distancing.
The parade, or un-parade if you prefer, will kick off in this COVID-19 year at 7 p.m. November 27, the day after Thanksgiving.
And since you will be doing more moving around, it will help you take off more of the turkey.
