SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police are investigating a fraud that scammed a man out of $550,000 in cash and gift cards.
Police say the scammers said they were with the IRS and the 82-year-old man’s car was involved with a drug deal.
The scofflaws said the victim needed to pay the money to clean up the situation.
They also told the man not talk to anyone
Family members told the man it was a scam and contacted the police.
The police remind you that the IRS will not call you and will not tell you to remain silent.
