I Voted sticker on protective face mask for in person voting in the presidential election in the USA during coronavirus pandemic
PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — There will be a mask mandate at the Dakota Dome in Vermilion next month for the South Dakota High School Football Championships.
“Just like your ticket to get in the door, your second ticket to get in, perhaps, is that mask or face covering,” says Assistant Executive Director of the State High School Activities Association, John Krogstrand.
Masks are required on the University of South Dakota campus anyway, but Krogstrand says the Association fully concurs with the safety measure.
He also says social distancing will be used to help determine seating inside the Dome for the big games.
The SDHSAA is also considering mask mandates for volleyball and for winter sports championships.
“Our seasons are very fragile and very delicate right now as we’ve seen with games even being forfeited in the quarter-final round because of flare-ups.” Krogstrand is referring to Lennox football having to forfeit to Tea Area because of COVID-19.
The football championships, one of South Dakota’s most anticipated and popular sporting events, are set for November 12, 13, and 14.
Just remember to bring a mask.
