SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Minnehaha County Democratic Party says political yard signs are being stolen at unprecedented levels.
County Chair Nikki Gronli says she’s never seen anything like it.
“We had people that have had signs in their yards a matter of two to three hours and had people steal the signs out of the front yard even while they’re home.”
She says it’s mostly Joe Biden signs, but other candidates as well. They have videos of some of the thefts.
Gronli says the party e-mail and Facebook page is full to bursting with requests for new signs to replace the ones that were swiped or destroyed.
She thinks it is a manifestation of just how divided the country is this election year.
“It’s obviously a very heated election this time around and that that divide, unfortunately, has continued to grow across the country, and in our state.”
