SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — COVID-19 seems to have an impact on almost everything in South Dakota, including the annual Pheasant Fly-in at Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
There will be no free food and drinks for the arriving hunters this time.
But everything else is pretty much the same including a big welcome says Teri Schmidt with Experience Sioux Falls.
“We’re glad they’re in South Dakota and we want them to know that we appreciate them coming here to enjoy our beautiful state.”
The 26th annual Fly-in is Thursday, October 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, October 16, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thousands of hunters will be coming into South Dakota’s largest airport from all over the nation and the world.
The South Dakota Tourism Office estimates that pheasant hunting generates $223 million in economic impact each season.
Pheasant season opens Saturday.
