TEA, S.D. (KELO.com) — A big semi-truck hauling chicken caught on fire Wednesday morning in the northbound lane of Interstate 29 near Tea.
Traffic was backed up for miles for hours.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says all the chicken meat created a “slippery mess.”
To complicate matters, vehicles were driving around patrol cars, which caused a secondary crash.
No injuries were reported.
It’s unclear what exactly caused the fire. The semi was severely damaged.
