SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District improved high school graduation rates in the latest annual state report card.
Students also showed significant improvement in college and career readiness.
This is a more limited report from past years because the 2019-20 school year was interrupted due to COVID-19. For example, Proficiency in English and Math was not measured.
The on-time graduation rate reached 85 percent, 4 percent higher based on the District’s Strategic Plan.
The combined graduation rate that includes late graduates and students earning a GED, reached 94 percent, 7 percent higher than the Strategic Plan’s baseline.
A sour note in the report card is the percentage of English Language Learner students on track to achieve proficiency. The 43 percent proficiency rate represents a 4 percent drop from the year before.
