SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Some South Dakota School Districts are now releasing COVID-19 cases to the general public.
Rapid City, Pierre, and Brookings, for example.
But Sioux Falls has no plans to change its policy of only sharing new cases with the parents involved.
“The Sioux Falls School District is not reconsidering releasing COVID-19 cases to the general public. Parents in each school are notified when there is a case in the building. If their child is considered a close contact, they are notified with a second letter to give further instructions and guidance,” The District’s DeeAnn Konrad tells KELO.com news.
We do know that some Sioux Falls schools have COVID-19 cases, but that information came to the public only indirectly.
