SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Last week the Department of Veterans affairs announced a data breach impacting 46,000 veterans nationwide.
If your information was involved in the breach, the VA will be contacting you by mail to let you know.
The VA will also be offering free credit monitoring to those impacted.
Veterans whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
There is no action needed from veterans if they did not receive an alert by mail.
